The Mines Afire!!

As part of our Windows to the Past big idea we have planned, directed, videoed, edited and uploaded our very first Movie Trailers based around our class novel we have just finished "The Mines Afire".  We are pretty impressed with our movies and we hope you enjoy them!
We have learnt many things along the way and we have already found things we can improve on for next time.

Family Fiesta

So much talent!  The task was to create something out of recycled materials that represents our current topic "Windows to the Past".  Needless to say Mrs Clark was nothing short of blown away by these fantastic creations!
Congratulations to you all - you were all winners in my eyes, I know you made the judges job VERY difficult!!!

Westport 2019

Wow - what a camp!  We had 3 days of brilliant weather, fabulous activities and a super team of parent helpers.  The most popular day by far was the day at Denniston.  If you have never been there it should be number 1 on your to do list!  Stockton was also pretty popular, we missed out on seeing a bit because of the low cloud but Mrs Clark took lots of photos to show us while she stayed with M2.
Here's a wee movie of some of our highlights - there were so many!!

Friday Afternoon Board Game Bonanza!!

Each Friday afternoon this term we are playing a variety of traditional board games!  The aim of the game-excuse the pun is cooperation, team work and turn taking, with a little fun mixed in. What a great afternoon!  What’s your favourite board game at home?

WestaMaths fun

Today Mamaku Hub had a fantastic afternoon in the Hall with a WestaMaths type competition of problem solving.  We had 20 teams of 4 people in each team testing our maths brains. What a fun afternoon!!  Big thanks to Miss Power from Totara Hub for organising this afternoon, it was awesome!!

Respecting Our Environment

Over this term we have had a  major focus in our values on showing respect.  Respect to Self, Respect to Others and Respect for our Environment.  Over the past 2 weeks we have been focused on how we can show respect for our environment.  Mrs O challenged us to produce a short video clip demonstrating how we can show respect for ours.  We accepted the challenge and together with M2 we produced this blockbuster production!  We're so impressed with how it turned out!
We use an app called Clips to film it - super easy - give it a try.
