As part of our novel study on The Cay by Theodore Taylor we decided to build rafts as Phillip and Timothy had been adrift at sea on the Caribbean. For us to be successful at this activity we sat together and co-constructed a success criteria together so that we were all working towards the same goals. Wow - what a hugely fantastic morning - so much planning, discussion, risk taking and re modelling! And the best part of it was that they all floated! Super exciting! Well done M1 Literacy - you were amazing!!!
Kia ora Mamuka 1,
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of the book 'The Cay' before. Did you enjoy the book? When I googled it, I found out it was a movie too. Have you watched the movie? Your raft making experience looks like lots of team work and collaboration. How exciting that they all floated! Well done.
